On the borders of Umbria and Tuscany, on the slopes of Monte Pausillo, in the local authority area of Città della Pieve, there stands a small, ancient church.
From 1400 to 1800, several other buildings sprang up around the church: A farmhouse, the little house of the religious community and the house belonging to the farmer who tended the surrounding fields.

The whole complex nestles among olives and oaks, trees typical of the area. Situated at about 400 metres above sea level, San Donato has recently been sympathetically restored in line with strict conservation rules, both with regard to the buildings themselves and the original materials used.

The central location, as well as providing the opportunity for relaxation and reflection, is also ideally suited as a base for fascinating trips to the many tourist sites of notable artistic, religious and natural interest, such as Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Orvieto, Città della Pieve, Lake Trasimeno, Chiusi, Montepulciano and Pienza, as well as Rome and Florence which are each about 120 km away.
